The Wellness Tracker

Notes on habits and routines that I have actually kept, and several I have not.

Four years of writing down what I did, and what came of it

This is a log, not a programme. I have kept a habit sheet since 2022 and this site is the readable version of it — what I changed, how long it lasted, and whether the change survived contact with a busy fortnight. Nothing here is advice and I am not qualified to give any.

My sleep window has drifted forty minutes later since November

I did not notice until I plotted it. Bedtime moved by about ten minutes a month, every month, and the wake time did not move with it. Here is what the sheet says and the one change I have made in response.

26 February 2026

Two hundred days of a twenty-minute walk, and the three times it broke

The streak is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that all three breaks happened in the same circumstance, and once I could name the circumstance I could plan around it.

Twice a week is the honest number for strength work

I planned for three sessions a week for two years and averaged 1.8. I planned for two and averaged 1.9. The plan changed; the behaviour barely did. That gap is worth thinking about.

21 January 2026

Moving the caffeine cut-off, and what the sheet did and did not show

Six weeks with a two o’clock limit against six weeks with no limit. The result was smaller than I expected and in one respect the opposite of what I expected.

Standing note

I write about myself, one person, with a spreadsheet and no controls. Nothing here generalises and none of it is medical, dietary or clinical advice. If something on this site sounds like it might apply to you, treat that as a coincidence rather than a finding.
